The Kiefel KMV-50D is of course the newest in our line up of thermoforming machinery. It is what’s known as in in-line machine, this means that it does all of the operations necessary to produce our products in a series of steps throughout the machine. This effectively does away with some further steps that we still have to do when using our older machinery.

Stages
From the beginning the KMV-50D melts the PVC film and then transports it to the vacuum moulding station where the desired profile of tray is shaped. From here the products which are still surrounded by waste PVC are them moved on to a cutting block where they are punched, the cutting head leaves several of very small tags or PVC so that the tray does not fall out of the excess material on which it is being carried. It then moves on to a stacking station where a negative of the tray stacks a set number of trays one on another ready to be taken off by an operator and put into a carton to be shipped out.
